Drug Rehab Massachusetts

Choosing an effective Massachusetts drug treatment program is not always easy. With so many different approaches to drug rehabilitation, it may be difficult to really find the one that will yield the most positive results for your loved one. Does the drug addiction treatment have a high success rate? Does it include a comprehensive drug detoxification process? What is the drug rehab treatment’s philosophy? Not all drug treatment programs give the same results. That’s why when making a decision on a Massachusetts drug treatment, it is important to know what works.

Narconon is a drug treatment center that offers an all-natural rehabilitation program with a high success rate. This means that two years after having completed the Narconon drug addiction treatment program, 7 out of 10 of our graduates have remained clean. Our drug treatment centre gives results.

Massachusetts Drug Situation

Some recent statistics from the Department of Justice of the United States show that cocaine and heroin continue to be the primary drugs of abuse in Massachusetts. There is also a marked increase in abuse of the prescription drug OxyContin. This drug is known as a “gateway drug” to heroin use.

Massachusetts Prescription Drug Abuse

Current investigations indicate that diversion of oxycodone products such as OxyContin continues to be a problem in Massachusetts. Primary methods of diversion are via illegal sale and distribution by health care professionals and workers, “doctor shopping” (going to a number of doctors to obtain prescriptions for a controlled pharmaceutical), forged prescriptions, employee theft, pharmacy theft, and the Internet. Methadone and Vicodin were also identified as being among the most commonly abused and diverted pharmaceuticals in Massachusetts. The effects of cocaine may be appealing to some, but cocaine abuse has serious consequences on the body.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse:

"Opioids are commonly prescribed because of their effective analgesic, or pain-relieving, properties. Medications that fall within this class—referred to as prescription narcotics—include morphine (e.g., Kadian, Avinza), codeine, oxycodone (e.g., OxyContin, Percodan, Percocet), and related drugs. Morphine, for example, is often used before and after surgical procedures to alleviate severe pain.

[Prescription drug] withdrawal symptoms include restlessness, muscle and bone pain, insomnia, diarrhea, vomiting, cold flashes with goose bumps (“cold turkey”), and involuntary leg movements. Long-term use of opioids can lead to physical dependence and addiction. Taking a large single dose of an opioid could cause severe respiratory depression that can lead to death."

Many prescription drugs such as OxyContin are seen as a gateway to harder drugs such as heroin. When the drug addict begins to abuse harder drugs, it is getting harder and harder for him to quit. If he tries to rid himself of his drug addiction, he may undergo severe withdrawal symptoms. Since these symptoms are not alleviated in any way, the drug addict will continue to abuse to drug for its effects and/or to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

The Narconon drug treatment program has a specific component that addresses withdrawal symptoms. Vitamin and mineral supplements as well as special techniques are used to help ease the mental and physical symptoms of withdrawal. Since the Narconon drug abuse treatment program is completely drug-free, the individual is not given any substitute drug whatsoever. Get additional information on the Narconon drug-free withdrawal.

The second component of the drug addiction treatment program is the Narconon New Life Detoxification Program. To help the individual truly get rid of his drug cravings, Narconon uses a drug detoxification method that involves sweating in a dry sauna, as well as vitamin and mineral supplements. The last component involves a series of Life Improvement Courses that will help the individual get his life back on track. They provide the necessary tools so that the individual may go on to live a productive and drug free life.

The Narconon drug treatment program works. Many Narconon graduates have tried other drug rehab programs, but they simply did not work for them. After having completed the Narconon program, they got their life back. Get help now. Don’t hesitate with the life of your loved one.
